As some of you may have heard, a twenty-three year old woman from Stanford was raped behind a dumpster in January 2015, and her rapist, Brock Turner, was recently charged with a light six months in prison and three years probation -- for three felony counts of sexual assault. The ruling judge, Aaron Persky, justified the sentence, saying “A prison sentence would have a severe impact on him. I think he will not be a danger to others.”

Outrage doesn't begin to describe what I and just about every second person online are feeling. It's disgusting, it's heartbreaking. It's terrifying how little value these men have for female life.

Please take the time learn, to understand. This needs to end. Women's lives matter. This is not about one gender being greater or less, better or worse than the other. This is about being given the same respect and rights as you would a man.

We may still be fighting for equal rights on a giant scope of issues, but this -- this should be a given.
