''In a year, students at the University of Tennessee—Knoxville will probably see 12-year-old Sofia Tomov walking around campus with her black-rimmed glasses and enthusiastic personality.

She won't be a full-time student, but the Knoxville eighth-grader, who is home-schooled and loves nature journaling, the electric guitar and fencing, was accepted as a part-time visiting student.
