''When I’m feeling sad, defeated or lacking in energy, I sit myself down and watch Parks and Recreation; the greatest show that’s ever been on television. Not only is this show hilarious, it’s also inspiring – it teaches lessons about friendship, love and… civic duty.

It’s no exaggeration for me to say that Leslie Knope, the protagonist of the show, is one of my top five role models. She’s organised, passionate about her job, a teensy bit insane and genuinely caring and wonderful. And she’s just the main character. It’s also easy to be inspired by absolutely everybody else in the show (with the exception of Jerry/Larry/ Gary Gergitch).
